Our panel consists of three professionals who have extensive experience in the topic area and work or have worked in the Solid Waste Management sector. Mr. Justin Roosevelt-Sealy

General Manager, St. Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority (SLSWMA) 

Mr. Justin Roosevelt Sealy is the former Strategic Planning Manager attached to the Water and Sewage Company (WASCO) Inc and currently functions as the General Manager of the St. Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority.

Mr. Sealy brings both management and technical experience from his former employment where he served as Water and Wastewater Engineer, Technical Coordinator with the Planning, Design and Construction Department and Strategic Planning Manager over a period of fourteen (14) years.  He also represented the Association of Professional Engineers on the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority from 2011 until November, 2016 where he gained 4-5 years of experience in the governance of the Authority now entrusted to him.   In his capacity as director he also served as Chairperson of the Technical Committee.

Mr. Sealy is the holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University in Canada, and an MBA with Distinction in Engineering Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom.  He is also a registered professional engineer and the immediate past President of the Association of Professional Engineers of Saint Lucia.

Mr. Sealy is charged with planning, organizing and directing all solid waste management activities of the Authority in accordance with the Saint Lucia Solid Waste Management Act.  The Authority welcomes Mr. Sealy to the helm of the organization and challenges him to make a difference to solid waste management on the island.

Mr. Carl Ryan-Hunter

Mr. Carl Ryan-Hunter attained a Bachelors in Engineering (Imperial Collage), Certified Engineering Operations Executive  

 

He has amassed 24 years experience of managing the maintenance and development needs of Caribbean hotel and resort facilities. Mr. Ryan-Hunter has a special passion for management of energy and leveraging environmental initiates to drive down operation costs and enhance marketing ability.

 

He is the Chair of the St Lucian Hotel and Tourism Environmental Committee.

 

Carl's a strong proponent of the Caribbean Centric approach to engineering and managing projects that are regionally appropriate and sustainable.

 

He has a passion for training and information sharing with a special focus in overcoming cultural barriers to change.
